The 100 Day Project: Week 1
I’m one week in of the 100 Day Project and I’ve already wanted to quit at least twice. One day I was feeling low, another night I was feeling tired and then there were the many times I felt like my project was really, really stupid. Welcome to the life of an artist!
This first week has reminded me to loosen up, have a little fun and to put my perfectionism aside. It’s given me permission to mess about and play! Not everything I create has to be brilliant or perfectly executed.
Play is the place where discoveries are made. When we play, we let our guard down, our self doubts recede. We live in the moment and focus on what we’re engaging in. We enjoy the activity without concerning ourselves with productivity or relevancy. We play without expectation.
I want to stay committed to this project despite my private temper tantrums nearly every day. All I can do is take it one day at a time...
