Are You There Reader? It’s Me, Lydia.

Hello there!

I’m so glad you stopped by and I’m not just writing to myself. This is my first blog post and it’s kind of like a blind date - you hope you don’t get stood up 'cause you’re having an amazing hair day, you put on makeup, and it would be a shame to have all that effort wasted. 

Now that you’re here, let’s get acquainted! I’ll share a little about me and later, if I haven’t scared you away, maybe you can tell me a little about you.

My name is Lydia Makepeace. My favourite colour is...any colour! I love colour! The brighter, the bolder, the better. Just don’t ever make me wear black. I think I’m allergic. 

I am a creative soul who never seems to settle on one pursuit. I attended Judson University (a small Baptist school that forbade drinking and dancing) and studied graphic design. But whilst most of my classmates happily clicked away on their computers I was happiest making messes with my hands - glue, paper, paint, jellybeans, didn’t matter. I do love design, just not exclusively. I like working with materials I can feel and touch. I love the buttery richness of oil paint and getting my hands sticky with Elmer’s glue. Painting by far though is my greatest passion. It is the oxygen to my creative lungs.

I’m not sure where this blog will wander but I do know that at its heart it will always strive to inspire and encourage creativity. I hope that you’ll wander with me!
